World scholars Cup Nairobi 2023
Our learners performed outstandingly in the regional round of World Scholar’s Cup competition held on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th February 2023. Light International Academy and Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) co-hosted the event for Junior (super Junior and Junior) and senior categories. The world scholar’s theme this year is reconstructing the past.
All the 57 learners from our school qualified for the second round of the world scholar’s cup. Jabali Omollo emerged the best student overall in social studies while Robyn Lulu Taabu won 8 gold medals. The second round of the competition will be hosted this year in Doha, Qatar; London, UK; and Seoul, South Korea. More details shall be shared.
One thousand five hundred (1,500) students drawn from approximately a total of 50 schools in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda took part in this year’s world scholar’s cup in the junior category (12-14 years). The participants were grouped into 500 teams consisting of 3 members each.
Team debates, collaborative writing, scholar’s bowl and scholar’s challenge are some of the activities the scholars participated in.
The World Scholar’s cup was founded in 2006. It offers students globally opportunity to deepen knowledge in numerous areas beyond academics, develop soft skills such as communication and critical thinking as well as boost their confidence. Read more here https://www.scholarscup.org/.

Swimming Gala at Moi Educational Centre.
La Salle school swimmers won silver and bronze medals in the recently concluded Swimming gala held on Saturday 18th February, 2023 at Moi educational center, Nairobi. A total of 28 pupils from our school competed against more than 500 swimmers from 13 schools in Kiambu, Machakos and Nairobi regions.
50M Freestyle, 25m backstroke, 25m breast stroke and 25m butterfly were the events that swimmers took part in.
Soccer
Our soccer teams played friendly football matches on
Saturday 18th February 2023 with Fanaka Academy. The matches were
age-based. Our school won in the following categories under 9, under 11, under
13 and under 15. We lost in the under 7 category.
Swimming Gala at St Hannah’s Preparatory School Karen
La Salle School won a total of 8 medals (3 gold medals, 1 silver and 4 Bronze Medals) in the swimming gala held on Saturday, 4th March 2023 at St Hannah’s Preparatory School Karen.
Forty Seven swimmers from our school took part in the competition. At least 250 swimmers from a total of 12 schools and swimming clubs graced the swimming gala.
Athletics Championship
The School Management introduced the athletics programme as part of its quest to identify and nurture every learners’ potential.
The learners are trained in races of 800m, 100 m sprints, 200m sprints , 400m , 75m, 4*400m relay, among others.
The school's sports department in collaboration with the Private and International Preps Schools Sports Association (PIPSSA) organized an athletics championship at the Moi international Sports Centre Kasarani on Saturday , 11th March 2023.
A total of 12 schools participated in this competition. Our team consisted of 22 learners ( both boys and girls).
The athletics championship was a good starting point to build confidence and boost morale of our athletics team.
Basketball Friendly Match
We hosted basketball friendly match on Saturday, 11th March 2023. We played against Shepherd Junior academy and our team did well.
Social Studies Contest
La Salle school was ranked the best school in the Nairobi CBD Private School cluster social studies exam contest for class 8. We scooped a total of 400 points out of 424.
The social studies contest was held at the Holy Family Basilica Parochial Catholic School on Wednesday, 22nd March 2023. The social studies contest included written and oral questions which were administered individually and in groups.
La Salle school, Holy family BasilIca Parochial Catholic School, Serare, IQRA School and Al Ameen academy are the schools that participated in this year’s social studies contest.
Five students from our school took part in this contest. Our students were carefully selected through a series of assessments and only the best five made it to represent the school.
The contest is integral for preparations of learners for Kenya certificate of primary education (K.C.P.E) examinations.
The school wishes to congratulate Junella, Shamarah, Trevor, Gicobi Gitari, Riella and Laurraine for their exemplary performance in the social studies contest.
